Hypermetropia)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">The word hypermetropia (lat. Hypermetropia ) consists of two words: hyper &#8211; over, over, and metropia &#8211; looking to measure. Hypermetropia, farsightedness, is a refractive anomaly (error of the eye) due to which light rays focus behind the retina, therefore creating a blurred image of the observed object on the retina. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The popular opinion is that a person with farsightedness can see far, but this is not true because he cannot see clearly either distant or near objects without accommodation. It occurs more often in people with a family history of farsightedness, but this does not mean that a child of farsighted parents will automatically be farsighted.<br \/> Most children are born farsighted. This farsightedness decreases over time and is mostly corrected during the child&#8217;s development. A regular check-up with an ophthalmologist is certainly necessary in order for the child&#8217;s vision to develop properly.   <\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Foresight\" src=\"http:\/\/staging.livision-optika.com\/edukativni-centar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/889113520076875.jpg\"><\/div>\n<p>The distant point (Punctum remotum) is located behind the eye and is virtual.<br \/> The near point (Punctum proximum) depends on the degree of farsightedness, it can be located in front of or behind the eye.<br \/><br style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Signs of farsightedness:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>distance vision acuity is weakened, especially in older people due to a decrease in the power of accommodation<\/li>\n<li>near vision acuity weakens relatively early<\/li>\n<li>headache<\/li>\n<li>the patient gets tired quickly and feels discomfort when reading at close range<\/li>\n<li>asthenopia (fatigue, burning, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>photophobia &#8211; fear of light (intolerance of light)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In contrast to myopia, in farsightedness self-correction is possible through accommodation, so a farsighted person does not have to notice that it is present. The ability to self-correct is limited by the strength of farsightedness. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/staging.livision-optika.com\/edukativni-centar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/495186091348481.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Farsightedness is corrected with convex, converging, plus glasses or contact lenses. Nowadays, farsightedness can be corrected surgically (refractive surgery). <\/p>\n<p>In farsightedness, the dioptric power of the eye and the size of the eye are not in the correct relationship, either the dioptric power of the refractive system of the eye is too small (insufficient) or the eye axis is too short (&#8220;small&#8221; eye).<br \/><br style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">In the refractive view, farsightedness is divided into:<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Axial<\/span> farsightedness &#8211; the most common. The cause of farsightedness is the too small diameter of the eyeball (less than 24 mm). The refractive system of the eye is normal, but the diameter of the eyeball is smaller than usual, so the refractive system does not have enough plus dioptric power to bring the parallel rays of light to a focal point on the retina.  <\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Lomna farsighted<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">st<\/span> &#8211; the eye is of normal size. The cause of refractive farsightedness is too weak curvature of the cornea (\u00cb\u201a48.83 dpsh). <\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Index farsightedness &#8211;<\/span> there is a deviation of the refractive index from the norm in some or all parts of the optical system of the eye.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">A change in the position of the eye lens<\/span> (eg luxation of the eye lens into the vitreous) &#8211; can also cause farsightedness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Clinical classification of farsightedness:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Latent farsightedness<\/span> remains hidden because the error of the eye is completely corrected by accommodation. The patient will refuse the plus correction, complaining that the correction blurs his vision. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Facultative farsightedness<\/span> is the part of the refractive error that can be measured and corrected with plus lenses, but is also corrected by accommodation when there is no corrective lens.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Absolute farsightedness<\/span> is part of the refractive error that cannot be compensated by accommodation.
